CAROLINE RUSH - OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO THE BRITISH FASHION INDUSTRY
Acknowledged for changing London Fashion Week from being a 'poor cousin' of Paris, Milan and New York, Caroline Rush (CBE) has shown that Great Britain is really where it all begins. A formidable industry player with over two decades of experience in marketing and PR in fashion, music and lifestyle she was appointed the Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council (BFC) in 2009. Since then the first lady of British fashion has overseen the return of home-grown brands such as Burberry, Matthew Williamson, Mulberry, Pringle of Scotland and Preen to London as well as taking British designers to new markets including Hong Kong, Los Angeles, New York, Paris and São Paulo.
In 2016 the Asian Couture Federation was delighted to recognise Caroline with the Outstanding Contribution to the British Fashion Industry Award which highlights her creative hand in the UK’s current fashion success.
