New chapter in Vietnam’s Fashion History

On the 6th of July 2014, Chairman of FIDé Fashion Weeks, Dr. Frank Cintamani, hosted a Press Conference in Ho Chi Minh City to officially announce the inaugural Vietnam International Fashion Week to be held in December 2014. This groundbreaking collaboration between FIDé Fashion Weeks and Multimedia JSC is set to create the largest and most extensive Vietnamese fashion platform yet.
Signaling, the first step in the mission to discover avant-garde and cutting edge designers around the world and in particular the Asia region, Dr. Frank Cintamani and Multimedia JSC’s Ms. Le Thi Quynh Trang undertook an official signing ceremony, in the presence of key media and the press.
Following, the announcement, Founding President of the Asian Couture Federation, Dr. Frank Cintamani, Vice President, Ms. Emily Hwang, and recently appointed Governor Ms. Le Thi Quynh Trang, also the Executive Producer of Vietnam’s Project Runway and Vietnam’s Next Top Model, performed a welcoming ceremony to induct the federation’s first Vietnamese Couturier Extraordinaire, Nguyen Cong Tri. The appointment marks and cements the ACF’s commitment to elevate the Vietnamese fashion industry into the international limelight. The celebratory event was a meaningful ritual where Ms. Emily Hwang was invited to present the newly appointed senior member with a flower bouquet, and in exchange, the Asian Couturier Extraordinaire ceremoniously robed her in a hand picked, red avant-garde couture jacket from his prized collection.
Bringing the Press Conference to a close was a presentation of Nguyen Cong Tri’s breathtaking capsule collection – which showcased exclusive pieces from his prized archive along with outfits from his recent “Pure Water” collection. Dazzling and exquisite, the showcase was a fitting prelude to the event taking place this December. As its title would suggest – the “Pure Water” collection reflected fluidity and simplicity, and engaging display of couture dresses on models making their way down the runway was an enticing foretaste of what is to come in December.
